Serving the World by Serving the Church

Joshua P. Steele
a little about..

Joshua Steele

I want to serve the world by serving the Church as a cross-cultural pastor theologian.

I want to advance God’s Kingdom pastorally, academically, and globally – as equal parts pastor, theologian, and missionary.

I am ordained as a Transitional Deacon (on the way to the priesthood) in the Anglican Church of North America, the Anglican Diocese of the South.

Currently, I serve as a Deacon at St. Peter’s Anglican Church in Mountain Brook, Alabama. From January 2014 until December 2016, I served as the Youth Minister at St. Peter’s.

If you are interested in my preaching and teaching in a church context, check out my Sermons page.

I recently (December 2016) completed my M.Div. at Beeson Divinity School in Birmingham, Alabama.

In Fall 2017, I will begin the Ph.D. in Biblical & Theological Studies at Wheaton College in Wheaton, Illinois. My research interests include Karl Barth, Dietrich Bonhoeffer, their theological critique(s) of religion, and the theological interpretation of Scripture.

If you are interested in my research and writing, check out my Essays page, as well as my profile.

Of course, there’s much more to me than what I’ve written, taught, and preached! I have been married to the love of my life, Rachel, since August 2012. She is a Family Nurse Practitioner and previously worked as a Registered Nurse.

I know I’m biased, but we make a great team together in order to meet physical, emotional, and spiritual needs to the glory of God.
